About the tour

Come hungry and with your best walking shoes on!

Many tourists explore the Danish capital's beautiful city center, but few venture a short walk away to the city inside the city: Frederiksberg. Join me for a food-focused walking tour of the area that was once home to the royal family's summer retreat and is now teeming with bakeries, bars, restaurants, and some of the area's most stunning green spaces.

What's included
  • Food and drinks from 5 of the city's best and oldest establishments (coffee, pastries, a hot dog, an open-faced sandwich, and dessert)

  • Stories and insights from a local guide

  • Groups of 8 or fewer so we can really maximize that hyggeligt feeling

Please note:

  • The tour is about 4 kilometers/2.5 miles long, but with several stops along the way—including a 60-minute lunch.

  • I recommend this tour for ages 10+, but kids of all ages are welcome! Kids 9 and younger are free.

Why tour Frederiksberg instead of Copenhagen?

Few things unite people like great food and unforgettable stories—and Frederiksberg has both.

This pocket of the Danish capital was once the distant countryside. Today, it's surrounded on all sides by Copenhagen municipality, but is an independent city filled with places to eat, drink, and enjoy life at a slower pace than the bustling city center.

Together we'll explore inner Frederiksberg, starting only a 10-minute walk from Tivoli and Copenhagen Central Station. You'll never be far from a Metro stop to get you back to your hotel, Airbnb, or cruise port!

Lisa Marchand hosting a food walking tour in Frederiksberg near Copenhagen

Inspired by walking tours I've taken around the world, I launched this one in 2025. Although I grew up in the United States, I've called Denmark home since 2017. 🇩🇰

Now my goal is to share a piece of Danish hygge the best way I know how: sharing food and stories in my very own neighborhood.

Hope to see you soon!

Lisa, your friendly neighborhood tour guide
